Fixed-bed reactor

A fixed-bed reactor is a chemical reactor in which the catalyst or reaction mass is present in a solid phase (as the “fixed bed”), while the reactants flow through the bed in a liquid or gaseous phase. This type of reactor is frequently used in the chemical industry, particularly in catalytic processes such as ammonia synthesis, hydrogenation, or oxidation.
