Dr. Nickl is attending the EUROPACAT 2025 conference – the most important trade fair for catalysis research – in Trondheim. Unsurprisingly, Norway has a multitude of catalysis and hydrogen research centers such as SINTEF, NTNU, and others.
This international conference brings together scientists, researchers, and industry representatives from around the world to discuss the latest advances and trends in catalysis, highlight the role of catalysis in society, and explore future needs. C&CS’s interest lies in tar reforming (using their own catalysts!), ortho-para-hydrogen catalysis, VOC combustion, hydrogenation, etc. Incidentally, many Germans lead the sessions and give presentations!
• Gas emission treatment: Techniques for reducing harmful emissions such as NOx, CO, CH₄, VOCs and soot
• Hydrogen production in a low-emission scenario: Strategies for the sustainable production and use of hydrogen.
• Gas-to-Liquids technology: Techniques for converting hydrogen, natural gas, biogas, and coal and biomass gasification into liquid energy carriers.
• CO₂ activation and upgrading: Solutions for the effective use of carbon dioxide.
• Refinery catalysis: Advances in catalysis for the processing of oil and biomass.
• Liquid or solid cleaning and waste reduction: Innovative methods for minimizing waste and improving cleaning processes.
• Circular processing and applications: Strategies for integrating circular economy into catalysis.
• Bulk chemicals from fossil and renewable raw materials: Developments in the sustainable production of chemicals.
• Fine Chemicals and Polymer Production: Latest Trends in Synthetic Chemistry.
