“Crafting is an art,” says Dr. Nickl, founder of C&CS. “And for me, tinkering has positive connotations. You can set up catalysis experiments, optimize analytical instruments, invent apparatus, repair many things, and simply help yourself. And it’s fun!” C&CS places great value on the tinkering skills of its employees and operates workshops for mechanics and electronics. A TIG welding machine has also been acquired, and with it, we plan to build custom racks for reforming, total oxidation, and op-H2. Here are some impressions from the introductory training.
