Catalytic oxidation with noble metal catalysts is used in modern environmental engineering for the purification of industrial process wastewater and exhaust gas streams. Using platinum- or palladium-based catalysts, excess H₂O₂ is reliably converted into harmless end products.
Typical applications are found in the chemical industry and in exhaust gas purification. Compared to purely thermal processes, catalytic oxidation operates at lower temperatures and thereby significantly reduces energy demand. The reaction products consist predominantly of water, oxygen, and carbon dioxide.
Monolithic catalyst systems such as the EnviCat series offer a high active surface area with low pressure drop. As a result, they enable a stable, long-lasting, and economical solution for demanding environmental and purification processes.
