Total oxidation VOC

Total oxidation: Air pollution control is one of the most important tasks of chemical engineers. Industrial processes often generate exhaust air because they use an airflow for drying, cooling, ventilation, and dust removal. These emissions are regulated by law, in Germany by the TA Luft, the “Technical Instructions for Air Pollution Control.”Emission reduction via precious metal and mixed oxide catalysts: If the emissions are carbon monoxide (CO), formaldehyde (HCHO), solvents (VOCs), fuels (hydrocarbons), odorants, toxins (PAHs), or prohibited substances (CHCs, HFCs, CFCs) – all components that are converted to harmless carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) through total oxidation – then precious metal and mixed oxide catalysts are suitable for exhaust air treatment. C&CS has successfully designed hundreds of processes in coffee roasting plants, soil air treatment, painting plants, pharmaceutical exhaust air, and chipboard manufacturing with catalysts for the reactors and plants of the operators.

Such a design includes:- Evaluation of the feed gas components
– Catalyst selection (manufacturer, type, availability)
– Dimensioning (filling quantity, aspect, protective beds)
– Guarantees for cleaning efficiency, compliance with limit values ​​and service life.
