Activated charcoal

Activated carbon is a highly porous adsorbent with an large internal surface area of up to 1,000 m² per gram. It is produced from natural raw materials such as coconut shells, walnut shells, or anthracite and activated using steam. This structure makes it highly effective for gas purification and pollutant removal.

In industrial applications, activated carbon is widely used to remove sulfur compounds such as H₂S and COS, as well as mercury, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), odors, and other contaminants. It plays a key role in biogas, digester gas, and landfill gas treatment, ensuring efficient and reliable gas cleaning.

Selecting the right activated carbon requires in-depth expertise. C&CS provides comprehensive support, from product selection and reactor design to the reliable supply of high-performance activated carbons tailored to your application.
