Alkali oxide

What exactly are alkali oxides? They are the oxides of lithium, sodium, potassium, etc. (Incidentally, alkaline earth metals like magnesium and calcium also play a role).

Alkali oxides play a crucial role in absorption and catalysis due to their ability to catalyze various chemical reactions and effectively absorb pollutants. For example, alkali oxides can be used as catalysts in chemical reactions to increase the reaction rate and produce the desired products, such as potassium on the iron catalyst in ammonia synthesis. Furthermore, they can be used as absorbents to remove pollutants from gases or liquids. The chemical properties of alkali oxides allow them to interact efficiently with various molecules, thus offering a wide range of industrial applications.
