Copper

Copper as an adsorbent utilizes its high affinity for oxygen. A typical application is the use of finely divided copper on a ceramic substrate to remove traces of oxygen from hydrogen (see fuel cell): 2 Cu + O₂ → 2 CuO. The advantage is that the adsorption capacity can be restored (reactivated) with H₂: CuO + H₂ → Cu + H₂O.

C&CS has a variety of materials in stock; with technical consultation from our experts, we will find the right material and operating parameters for you.
