Zeolite molecular sieves

Molecular sieve zeolite

Zeolites are crystalline, microporous aluminosilicates composed of SiO₂ and Al₂O₃ tetrahedra. They occur in numerous modifications in nature and can also be manufactured. They possess a large internal surface area, and their pores and channels can be one-, two-, or three-dimensionally interconnected.

C&CS offers Zeolite 3A, Zeolite 4A, Zeolite 5A, and Zeolite 13X (FAU) as standard products. Learn more about the fascinating world of zeolites and their diverse industrial applications with our experts. Zeolites efficiently absorb pollutants, accelerate chemical reactions, and thus make a significant contribution to environmental and process optimization.

Special zeolites such as Zeolite ZSM-5 or Pentasil zeolites (MFI) are also available, and our experts will assist you in the correct application of these aluminosilicates.

Zeolites are primarily used for gas drying and selective adsorption. They find application in many industrial sectors, including filtration, separation, industrial gas processing, construction, agriculture, detergents, and PVC stabilizers.

Key applications also include specific systems such as high-pressure adsorption dryers—heat-regenerated or heatless regenerated—and hybrid dryers.

Zeolites are widely used in refining (e.g., gasoline or olefin production), petrochemicals (e.g., aromatics), chemicals (e.g., plastics), gas production and separation (e.g., oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide), and exhaust gas purification (removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and harmful nitrogen oxides (e.g., from diesel exhaust or chemical plants)).
