HDMax® 201 Hydrodesulfurization Catalyst HDS Natural Gas

HDMax® 201 Hydrodesulfurization Catalyst HDS Natural Gas

Product description and application

The HDMax® 201 is a cobalt-molybdenum catalyst and, like the HDMax® 200, is used in the hydrodesulfurization of natural gas (organic sulfur compounds—such as those resulting from the odorization of natural gas—are hydrogenated to H₂S).

The product has been chemically optimized specifically for natural gas feed streams and is available in the form of extrudates to facilitate optimized mass transfer.

HDMax® 201 is used upstream of an ActiSorb® S2 bed, which absorbs the H₂S released during hydrodesulfurization.

Benefits:

  • Enables complete hydrogenation even of organic sulfur compounds that are difficult to break down
  • High mechanical strength and thermal stability
  • Optimally prepares the feed gas for subsequent absorption in the zinc oxide bed
