ShiftMax® 120 HCF is an iron oxide-based high-temperature shift (HTS) catalyst in tablet form that catalyzes the water-gas shift (WGS) reaction (H₂O + CO → H₂ + CO₂) at relatively high CO concentrations to significantly increase the hydrogen content of the synthesis gas produced after reforming (syngas conditioning).
It is supplied as a solid in tablet form (6×6 mm) and is used for the conversion of carbon monoxide at high temperatures (HTS).
The ShiftMax® 120 HCF HTS catalyst combines high activity with exceptional mechanical stability. In addition, this catalyst is highly effective in preventing the formation of Fischer-Tropsch byproducts, particularly when operated under low steam-to-gas ratios. Medium-temperature shift (MTS) catalysts or low-temperature shift (LTS) catalysts can be used downstream.
C&CS offers comprehensive technical support—from consulting and design, through installation, to replacement and disposal.
Benefits:
- High activity and mechanical stability
- Retains its mechanical strength and activity even at high temperatures
- Reduces the risk of side reactions in the reactor due to its composition
