Regeneration

Cost- and environmentally efficient recycling of catalysts and adsorbents

Our regeneration service restores spent catalysts and adsorbents to near-new condition – offering significant cost advantages compared to disposal and new purchase. How does it work? First, samples of the material at the end of its service life are chemically characterized, and its fundamental regeneration potential is assessed. In the catalysis lab, the kinetics of the actual performance are analyzed, specifically tailored to customer processes such as VOC, partial oxidation, reforming, hydrogenation, desulfurization, etc. (gas composition, temperatures, pressure, GHSV). Then, in the chemistry lab, we develop the regeneration “recipe” using processes such as burnout, acid washing, dust removal and sieving, solvent treatment, and washing. Success is again determined by kinetic analysis. Based on the lab results, we develop a customized regeneration concept tailored to your process conditions (gas composition, temperatures, pressure profiles). Finally, we carry out the actual regeneration and return the regenerated material to the reactor.

The advantages at a glance

Cost reduction per life cycle

Maintaining process performance close to the target value

Extended life cycle of materials and equipment

Reduced waste and improved environmental footprint

(LCA certificate)

Our experts are happy to coordinate the extraction (reactor service), regeneration, monitoring, and quality controls – a holistic, one-stop solution for stable process conditions. Transparent life cycle assessments (LCAs) also allow for continuous tracking of clear cost and environmental benefits.

In summary: why regeneration? Cost savings, documented environmental benefits, reduction of procurement risks and avoidance of complexity through a one-stop shop.
