For 30 years, the sister company GWP mbH has been operating a gas laboratory that should be better called the catalysis and emissions laboratory. This is where the mixed oxides that later found their way into nitrogen oxide reduction in trucks and cars, now known as AdBlue, were created as contract research. Or a pilot plant was developed with an absorbent for cleaning food CO2 from the toxic COS. For a laboratory equipment manufacturer, we developed a PSA plant for producing nitrogen from air that replaces compressed gas cylinders and fits on the table. For the dewaxing of galvanized turbine blades, we developed a precious metal-free catalyst for wax vapor combustion to industrial maturity. And many other highly specialized boutique orders have been processed that establish the reputation of the gas laboratory. Now this laboratory fits better into the C&CS and we are moving to Kirchheim, operations will begin in mid-2024.
