Now our catalysis laboratory is fully operational! A few days ago, colleagues from www.micromeritics.com with us in Kirchheim and put the AutoChem III into operation. C&CS Kat-Lab manager Dominik Kreutzer then carried out his own calibration measurements and is pleased:
"With the AutoChem III, we can now carry out measurements on behalf of customers to examine, among other things, the active surface of catalytic materials and thus support our customers in the development of new catalysts."
The high-tech device from Micromeritics is used to analyse surface reactions and catalytic properties of solids. It is primarily used in the research and development of catalysts to investigate chemical adsorption and desorption processes. With the ability to carry out precise temperature programs, the device enables the determination of important parameters such as specific surface areas, acid and base strengths and active metal surfaces. Thanks to its versatile analysis options, such as the TtemperaturePprogrammed Dsorption (TPD), Reduction (TPR) and Ooxidation (TPO), the AutoChem III provides reliable data for characterizing catalytic materials. This information is immensely important in optimizing industrial processes in areas such as petrochemicals, environmental engineering and materials science.
With shining eyes, Dominik adds: “The Autochem is very easy to use, super accurate in its measurements – working with it is simply fun!”
